Fish and Trips of St Mawes offers two hour mackerel fishing trips as well as half day and full day charters.

Set sail with friendly, local skipper James Brown, a former commercial fisherman with more than 20 years experience, onboard the Madeline Rose, his traditional fishing boat.

Mackerel trips offer a great introduction to fishing for families, youngsters or first time fisherman and a fun few hours for those with more experience. James’ boat, the Madeline Rose can carry up to nine passengers for mackerel fishing.

For a more leisurely day, you could charter the boat and combine fishing with sightseeing along the River Fal, and perhaps stop off for lunch at one of the riverside pubs. Or for the more serious fisherman, head out a bit further for some wreck fishing. Madeline Rose is MCA coded for up to 20 miles out to sea for up to seven passengers.

Wildlife lovers can get a close up of the St Anthony Lighthouse, home to cormorants and shags, and peregrine falcons nesting in the nearby cliffs. Look out for seals on Black Rock, and there’s even a chance of seeing dolphins, whales, and sharks in the bay.

Trips run throughout the day, weather permitting. We’ll supply rods and tackle, and you get to keep your catch!

Fish & Trips of St Mawes operates out of the harbour in the historic fishing village of St Mawes, at the tip of the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall.
