After spending twenty years at sea as a commercial fisherman, James had a brief stint of working on land, which quickly confirmed his belief that he belongs on the sea! He bought a 21ft Cygnus, Dolores four years ago, and put up a sign offering himself up as a skipper for mackerel fishing trips. He quickly gained a reputation for his friendly, welcoming manner and knowledge of the local waters. James has been running his fishing trips out of St Mawes for four years, and has gathered some nice reviews from happy customers along the way (as well as a few mentions in the national papers!).

Here’s a small selection of reviews so you don’t have to take our word for it!

Within minutes of the lines going into the water, the fish came on thick and fast to the delight of our two youngest. We lost count after about 25 or more… I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to experience a short trip afloat.

Would definitely recommend ….. superb fun, excellent rates ….. and very memorable !! The boys were beside themselves with joy. They’re still talking about it now. “When can we go back fishing with James…?” is all we hear. So, thanks again, James, and we recommend without hesitation.
